November 2017

South Ealing Playgroup Committee & Staff

Introducing the 2017/18 Committee

Following the Annual General Meeting on 11th October we welcomed some new members onto the
Committee: Alison Bradley is our new Membership Secretary and her hubby Simon is our new
Treasurer. The line up for 2017/18 is completed by Katie Hargreaves (Chair), Lorna Stenson (Staff
Development), and Juliet Taplin (Secretary). Jo Hamilton and Nicki Butler have also volunteered to
support our events and marketing. Thank you to all our volunteers. We could not have a playgroup
without you. The next Committee meeting is 8pm Thursday 18th January. Please come along if you are
free. Ask Ruth for details.

Santa Claus is coming!

Santa is coming to Playgroup on Friday 8th December 3.30 – 5pm!. Come to meet him in his grotto and
stay for a mince pie. There will be children’s craft activities, cakes, refreshments and a raffle. If anyone
would like to donate a raffle prize please let Ruth know. We will need volunteers to help run the event,
and donations of cakes. More details nearer the time.

Open Morning

We are holding an open morning for prospective families to visit on Friday 24th November at 10am.
Please let your friends and neighbours with young children know.

Christmas Staff Collection

As Christmas is fast approaching we are starting a collection for gifts for our staff. If you would like to
make a donation please put it in an envelope marked for the attention of Katie Hargreaves (Committee
Chair). A suggested donation of £5 - £10 per family would be lovely, but anything you are able to give
would be much appreciated by our hard working staff. A little presentation for the staff is held at the
end of term party on Friday 15th December.

Blackbird Music

Penny, the very talented early years music teacher from Blackbird Music came to playgroup on
Wednesday 15th November to treat our children to a fun packed music and singing session. She will
be back in the new year!

Christmas shopping help

We currently have space for children to attend extra ad hoc sessions (subject to availability) in the run
up to Christmas. If you would like to take some extra sessions, please allow at least 24 hours notice
and email your request to Alison, our membership secretary
(membership@southealingplaygroup.co.uk)

Handy with a mallet?
